  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic (divided)
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 cup whole or 2% milk (warmed to 110°F)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • Flaky sea salt (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a small pot, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with 2 tablespoons of minced garlic until fragrant; set aside to cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, parsley, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  4. Add the warmed milk, egg, and cooled garlic butter mixture to the dry ingredients; mix until combined.
  5. Knead until smooth using a stand mixer with a dough hook (about 10-12 minutes).
  6. Divide dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each into a ball; place in the prepared pan.
  7. Cover and allow dough to rise in a warm area until doubled in size (1-2 hours).
  8. Brush tops with beaten egg wash before baking for about 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. While baking, prepare additional garlic butter by melting remaining butter with minced garlic; brush over hot rolls once out of the oven.
