  • 1 large head of lettuce (butter lettuce, iceberg, or romaine)
  • 8 ounces water chestnuts (canned, diced)
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 medium onion (diced)
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 teaspoons rice vinegar

Instructions

  1. Wash and separate the lettuce leaves. Dice the water chestnuts and shred the carrots.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté diced onions until translucent.
  3. Stir in minced garlic; cook until fragrant, then add ground pork and cook until browned.
  4. Mix in shredded carrots and water chestnuts, then pour in hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and rice vinegar; stir well and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
  5. Assemble the wraps by placing a scoop of the pork mixture onto a lettuce leaf. Optionally garnish with green onions or sesame seeds.
