Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • ⅓ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ onion, diced
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, panko breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and minced garlic. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into four oval patties about ¾ inch thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add patties and cook for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add diced onions and mushrooms; sauté until softened.
  5. Stir in butter and flour to create a roux before gradually whisking in beef stock, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to form the gravy.
  6. Return patties to the skillet and simmer in gravy for an additional 5 minutes or until cooked through.
