  • ½ lb ground pork
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 28 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 16 oz ricotta cheese
  • 9 lasagna noodles (uncooked)
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté onions in olive oil until translucent, then add garlic.
  2. Stir in ground beef and pork; cook until browned.
  3. Add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, herbs, salt, and pepper; simmer for 30 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta with egg and seasonings.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella three times; top with remaining sauce and cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes; uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden.
